Advanced Surveillance

Proactive Prostate Health Monitoring

Ongoing prostate health monitoring is crucial, especially for men who have undergone a biopsy. The Advanced Surveillance Support program provides peace of mind and cutting-edge care, while keeping your primary care physician (PCP) fully involved in your health journey.

Advanced Surveillance Support is ideal for men who:

  • Have undergone a prostate biopsy

  • Are not indicated for high risk but want to stay vigilant

  • Prefer a proactive approach to their health

  • Want independent and outside thinking around their care

How It Works

Proactive Prostate Health Monitoring

Advanced Surveillance combines proven, new innovations to the good old fashioned monitoring that a patient’s primary care doctor and specialists already provide. Advanced Surveillance is divided into two main phases: 1) Enhanced Baseline, and 2) Regular Screening & Interpretation.

Phase 1: Advanced Baseline

Digitization of Existing Biopsy

You did the painful part; had a biopsy. We get your biopsy (BX) slides transformed into high-resolution digital images of your tissue samples.

2

BX-AI Powered Baseline Insights

We then get your digital BX overhead by an FDA-cleared AI. This AI performs analyses that likely conforms to what your pathologist saw but in addition provides deeper insights while establishing a baseline for future scrutiny.

3

MRI-AI Powered Baseline Insights

Working with your PCP we help coordinate an MRI scan which its then overread by a different AI to establish a comprehensive starting point for your on-going surveillance.

Phase 2: Regular Screening & Interpretation

4

Specialist Involvement (if needed)

Based on the results of the initial baseline assessment, a specialist may be consulted but this is unlikely.

5

Annual PSA Screening

Your PCP should have you scheduled for a regular PSA. As an Advocate we (nicely) nag you to make sure it happens.

6

Periodic MRI-AI Screening

At regular 3-5 year intervals and working with your PCP we ensure you have a new MRI and an AI overread to detect any changes.

7

Specialist Involvement When Indicated

If any concerning changes are detected, we discuss them with your PCP who will then coordinate bringing in the appropriate specialists.

Ongoing Support

Throughout your Advanced Surveillance journey you benefit from a collaborative care approach:

  • Clinical Advocate (CA): Your CA is a trained physician employed by Epione who serves as your dedicated guide through the prostate care journey. They work closely with you and your primary care physician, helping to navigate your care within the Epione system and coordinating with other specialists as needed.

  • Patient-Controlled Care Navigation Tools: These provide you ownership of the information, images and communications because managing a prostate condition is rarely one and done. They’re easy to use, secure (follow HIPAA guidelines) and provide you on-going control.
